Montuno West creates music influenced by a fusion of Afro-Cuban and Latin-Jazz styles, and strives to bring a vibrant, life-giving energy to their album, Raices, which means roots. The four members are joined by Israel “Toto” Berriel, and together they create music that is uplifting, room-filling, and makes the listener get out of their seat and move!
The album Raices is a nod to not just traditional inspirations, but also the growth and fresh perspectives that come from combining each member’s unique backgrounds. With the intention of inviting a wider listener audience than traditional jazz, Raices aims to find beauty in exploration, curiosity, and tell a story of happiness.
